The Born Ugly team conquered the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge last weekend to raise money for Mind UK. The 14 strong Born Ugly team completed the challenge in under 12 hours, raising a whopping £1420 for Mind UK.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. The 24 miles route includes 1585 meters (5200ft) of ascent, covering parts of the Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

With an eye-watering start of 6 AM, the team started their ugly trek from the beautiful Horton in Ribblesdale, skipping along the Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough peaks in just over 11 hours through a soupy fog that lasted much of the day. Aside from some sore legs, a scraped knee, a temporarily missing dog, and a hankering for some (alcoholic) replenishment, the trek went off without a hitch.

Seeing the potential in every Mind

So far, the challenge has raised over £1400 for Mind UK to help fund better care for anyone suffering from challenges to their mental health. Born Ugly selected Mind UK, because we believe in the power of diverse creative thinking to tackle the world’s biggest challenges. Which is why we bring together different perspectives, experiences, and capabilities to make extraordinary things happen that can change the world. And why we believe that every mind can create extraordinary.
